The jaguar is the largest cat in America, they help maintain a diversity of species by regulating prey numbers. Jaguars are also important in human culture, frequently playing a central role in stories, songs and prayers of indigenous people. Yet today, jaguars have been almost eliminated from the United States and population in Central and South America are falling because of habitat destruction, trophy hunting and conflict with humans.

Currently all of my jaguar paintings are part of a project in Oaxaca that rehabilitates rescued jaguars into their habitat.
